Hi guys!
It’s been a while! Too long and I’m sorry about that.
No excuses, but life got a little busier lately, well for the past 10 1/2 months to be exact. 10 1/2 months flew by and Baby Finley is growing quick. It’s time for momma to get back to work and TBH I miss you guys! *tear
Now there will be plenty of time to tell you all about Finley Belle and if you follow us on Insta you’ve been watching her grow quick. However, as I’m starting to jump back into business, I have a new mindset of growth for me, my business and for you.
As my email sign off says, Inherent Strength is not your mom’s lay on the couch type of psychotherapist and I’m not your “how does that make you feel” type of counselor. Don’t get me wrong, I care about your feelings, but the buck doesn’t stop there, we’re also going to figure out how we’re going to address them. I pride myself in being a solution-focused, maybe a little verbose at times, coaching counselor.
When I started Inherent Strength my goal was to work with individuals who have a desire to take that next step in reaching their full potential. In my over a decade in this field I’ve worked in a range of positions and with a range of clients. And one thing I’ve learned is that whatever our goal is, the problem with reaching it typically has little to do with difficulty in knowing how to reach our goal, but more so not being afraid to and knowing how to identify and overcome the barriers (often mental) that get in our way.
This begs the question, how can we reach our goals if we are afraid to face and overcome the barriers in our way?
Although it took more than a few years of education and experience to gain the confidence in who I am as a person, a coach and a counselor, it’s not lacking in these areas today. However, my mental barrier, like many, is my struggle with what I’m not experienced or educated in and when it really comes down to it my lack of confidence in this area. I won’t lie that I’ve let that get the better of me, having negative results to my business and myself.
I often avoid or just plain do not do anything “techy” with business. I’ve been lucky enough to have support in this area. But as my friends grow and grow their own businesses, it’s time to take the reins and start to learn what I don’t know so my business and I can grow in multiple ways.
Shoutout to Nicole owner of The Mug Creative who has helped me from the beginning and remains a valuable part of my team for teaching me and giving me the confidence to start doing some of my own "techy" stuff.
While here at here Inherent Strength we love all of our clients, we get really excited when we get to help people create and grow in their careers and businesses. I take very little credit here as it’s really all the client, but I have shared the journey with many once hesitant unhappy employees or just starting out in their field to now thriving leaders and business owners. Doing this using tools I’ve created along with Inherent Strength’s Life Coaching programs, including our Hit Your Goals Workbook and Goals Planner.
Once we can identify our barriers and start to break them down we can also identify our goals and start creating and following the road map with all the little steps to reach them.
As I start my journey to grow my knowledge and experience and therefore my confidence in areas I lack it in, I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t want to share what I learn with others, especially if it may help them grow. Now at Inherent Strength we are not tech wiz’s, but we are leaders in the counseling and coaching arenas and are here to help you reach your full potential, whatever that looks like for you.
Although, you may have no interest in search engine optimization (SEO) or blogging, I hope I’ve given you a little encouragement to start identifying and working towards your goals no matter the barriers you’ve identified.
Let me prephase this again noting that I’m not “techy” and I am by no means a pro at SEO or blogging so if you have any helpful tips, please don’t hesitate to help us all continue to grow and share your knowledge in the comments.
Wherever you are in your professional life and if you have a desire to grow in this area, I’m going to share what I learned recently to help my business and therefore me thrive, which may or may not be helpful to you.
If it’s not, that’s okay, STOP HERE and instead go read something motivational, start to think about where you want to grow your confidence and/or barriers that you want to break down and if you’re ready to start working towards reaching your goals, let us be your partners on the journey. Now enjoy your motivational book or Tik Tok, whatever works for you!
You want to write your content on what your desired clientele would be searching the internet for. A good way to accomplish this might be to answer a question that your preferred client might be asking. It’s 2022 so by “asking” I’m really saying, typing their question into Google. So what better way than to have your content pop up and answer it for them. Looks like you might be the perfect person to help them complete whatever related tasks they are working towards.
This one definitely ties into above. What your clients might type into google are going to be your key words. Make sure they are throughout your content and ensure you have plenty closer to the top.
You want to add multiple links via hyperlinking throughout your blog. There’s a couple differing ways you can do this. You can link back to a specific landing page on your website to provide more information on a service or product. They can also link to helpful information and known people and resources that expound on the information or even just a word you noted. Sites that are known to be well researched and credentialed are good to use as well such as sites ending in .org.
You’re going to want to have these stand out in size and similar to above in key words.
Depending on what you’re using to spread your content/share your blog you may have the option to use a Meta Description and/or Slug. Meta Description is essentially a very short sentence maybe two that summarizes your article. A Slug is similar, being a shortened title and you guessed it throw in a key word or two in both.
Store these in your computer with your keywords in the name of the pictures/videos.
All of this is useless if your reader can’t actually get to you. Always ensure your reader has a way to contact you!
To take a page out of my own blog, always feel free to CONTACT US and reach out via phone or email to schedule your free 15 minute phone consult or just go ahead and schedule something HERE.
